A POLICE car was involved in a collision with a taxi while "responding to an emergency incident" over the weekend.
Residents reported witnessing the emergency services, including police and the fire service, along Knowsley Road in the early hours of Sunday, January 21.
Merseyside Police has confirmed that the incident involved a "minor road traffic collision" between a police vehicle and taxi, with only minor injuries reported.
The scene, by the Black Bull pub and Dunriding Lane, was cleared a few hours later.

A Merseyside Police spokesperson said: "We can confirm that a police vehicle was involved in a minor road traffic collision on Sunday 21 January.
"At around 4.10am, it was reported that a police vehicle responding to an emergency incident was involved in a collision with a taxi on Knowsley Road, near the junction with Dunriding Lane.
"A police officer and a male driver of the taxi sustained minor injuries."
