OWNERS of a popular farm say they are ‘thrilled’ at news that plans to extend its café have been given the go-ahead.
Planners at Warrington Borough Council have granted planning permission to Kenyon Hall Farm in Croft.
The business submitted a planning proposal to the council in June, seeking permission for the expansion of the farm's cafe.
This was given the green light recently, with Kenyon Hall stating that work will hopefully begin next month.
In a statement, owners said: “Huge news from the Kenyon Hall Café.
“We are thrilled to announce we have been granted planning permission to extend our café.
“Our new conservatory will offer lots of extra indoor seating in winter, and in summer its retractable roof and sliding doors will make it a light, airy space to sit and take in views of the farm.
“We are hoping to begin building work during February, with the new area open to visitors later this spring.
“In the meantime, the café, farm shop and plant centre will be unaffected and remain open every day as usual.
“We will keep you updated with progress, and we cannot wait to welcome you to the latest development at the farm.”
The development is described as featuring a retractable canopy over the customer seating area and full-height vertical side glazing to create a ‘light and airy all-weather space’.
It is also planned that the new extension would provide an additional customer toilet, as well as increase the seating capacity in the café.
The statement was greeted with delight by customers of the popular venue.
One said: "Fabulous. Love the food and wish you all the success you deserve with all your hard work."
Another commented: "Fantastic news. Excellent food and service. The café is top small, so this is good news. I cannot wait until it opens."
