A WOMAN is reported to have been struck over the head while walking through St Helens town centre.
At around 12.50pm on Thursday, December 14, a man is alleged to have run up behind a woman outside B&M on Church Street and "hit her over the head with an object".
The impact of the blow is reported to have knocked the victim, in her 40s, to the ground and left her "very shaken", while the offender is alleged to have walked away from the scene.
Police have now released a CCTV image of a man who they believe could have information about the alleged assault and could help with the investigation.
