AN air ambulance was called following the sudden death of a woman over the weekend, police have confirmed.
Concerned residents reported seeing an air ambulance circling Sutton Park on Sunday afternoon, which is said to have landed close to the park entrance on Robins Lane at around 12pm.
A spokesperson for the North West Air Ambulance Charity has confirmed that an air ambulance was sent to an "incident" in St Helens, although it did not give any further details.

Merseyside Police, added that the air ambulance was called to the area following the "sudden non-suspicious death of a woman in her 60s in a property nearby".
Police say that the matter has now been referred to the coroner.
