POLICE have explained why they were called out to an area of the town last night.
Residents reported seeing a large police presence around Parr late on Sunday night, January 7.
A police helicopter was also reportedly seen flying above the area.
A spokeswoman said this was in relation to reports of anti-social behaviour in relation to suspects riding scrambler bikes in Sankey Valley Park.

A Merseyside Police spokeswoman said they were called in relation to a "report of suspicious behaviour involving males on scrambler bikes in Sankey Valley Park."
She added: A search of the area was carried but nothing was found."
