A MAN has been arrested on suspicion of breaching a Domestic Violence Protection Order.
Police made the arrest on Saturday night in St Helens after being called to the address classed as “vulnerable”.
Officers said a man had been charged with the breach, denied bail and is due to face a magistrates court this morning.
Police added that there are currently six Domestic Violence Protection Orders in place across Sf Helens.
Domestic Violence Protection Orders (DVPOs) and Domestic Violence Protection Notices (DVPNs) were rolled out across all 43 police forces in England and Wales in 2014.
According to gov.uk, DVPOs are a civil order that fills a “gap” in providing protection to victims by enabling the police and magistrates’ courts to put in place protective measures in the immediate aftermath of a domestic violence incident where there is insufficient evidence to charge a perpetrator and provide protection to a victim via bail conditions.
