A SUSPECT was arrested after police pursued a car that was being driven dangerously.

Officers seized the vehicle on Wednesday evening, January 3, following the chase.

Police said the vehicle failed to stop for officers when requested after it had been seen being driven dangerously.

A suspect was arrested and taken to custody, and the vehicle was seized.

The driver remained in custody this morning, Thursday.

In a statement, police said: "As part of the relentless effort to keep the roads safe, officers seized a motor vehicle and arrested its driver yesterday.

At approximately 5.30pm yesterday officers pursued a vehicle in Whiston, after it was seen being driven dangerously and failed to stop when requested.

"A short time later, the 35 year old driver was arrested on suspicion of failing to stop and dangerous driving. The vehicle was seized.

"The driver remains in custody this morning."
