HOMES and businesses in parts of St Helens have been left without water this morning after a pipe burst in the early hours.
The incident - at the junction on Gillars Lane, Catchdale Moss Lane and Howards Lane in Eccleston - is affecting properties across postcodes WA10/WA11/L34 in St Helens and Prescot, according to United Utilities.
A United Utilities statement in early hours read: “A burst has been spotted and reported to us on the junction of Gillars Lane, Catchdale Moss Lane and Howard's Lane and we can confirm this to be the cause of no water or low pressure in your area.
“We're on with it and our team will be in the area as soon as possible to get this fixed.
“Thank you for your patience, we hope to have things back to normal as soon as possible.
“We will keep you updated as we progress with the repair.”
Some residents have woken to no water supplies in the surrounding areas.
A further United Utilities statement issued this morning added: “We’re sorry if you are experiencing no water or low water pressure at the moment.
“Our team are still on site and continuing to resolve this as quickly as we can.
We will provide you with an update here, once we know more.
“Sending our apologies whilst we work to get this sorted.”
