POLICE have issued an appeal for information after vandals targeted vehicles at a retirement village.

The Star reported after the "shocking" damage was inflicted on the cars at Reeve Court, off Elton Head Road, on Sunday night or Monday, December 11 last week.

One resident said they became aware of the vandalism to her car on Monday, December 11, when about to go out for a meal with a friend.

Her wing mirror had been completely smashed and twisted.

The resident, in her 70s, said she was "gobsmacked" to find there had been five or six cars vandalised in the area.

She added: “It’s just shocking really, it’s shocking for it to happen to anybody but to come and do it at a retirement village where we are in our 70s. You don’t want that, it’s distressing.

“It is awful, there is no need for it, I felt dreadful all day on Monday.

“I think it is disgusting personally.”
