A TEENAGER has been arrested following reports that a police officer was assaulted yesterday evening.
At around 5.30pm on Tuesday, December 12, Merseyside Police officers were alerted to a "domestic incident" taking place on Piele Road, Haydock, involving a teenage male.
As officers spoke with the 17-year-old, it is alleged that he became aggressive and "assaulted an officer" before fleeing the scene.

Officers say that the male, who was walking an XL Bully dog, made off to a nearby park before they caught up with him.
Following this, a search was carried out at his home address where a quantity of cannabis and drugs paraphernalia were reported to have been found.
The 17-year-old male was then arrested on suspicion of assaulting an emergency worker, possession with intent to supply a controlled Class B drug, and possession of a controlled Class B drug.
He has since been released under investigation.
