POLICE have issued a fresh appeal for information following the disappearance of a granddad with links to St Helens.

Officers are continuing to search for Brian Blakeman who is missing from Skelmersdale, West Lancashire.

Brian, 77, has been missing since Tuesday and police are "extremely concerned for his welfare".

Specialist search teams have been looking for him in Skelmersdale and the surrounding area.

Police are now asking for anyone who has dashcam footage who was driving on Beacon Lane, in the direction of Dalton, between 3.30pm and 4.30pm on Wednesday December 6 to contact  officers.

In a statement, police added: "Also, were you the driver of a black SUV vehicle which was on Beacon Lane?

"There was a person who was walking in the road – who might have been Brian - and the SUV was behind that person for a few minutes before going past.

"If you were the driver, or you have dashcam footage from Beacon Lane between 3.30pm and 4.30pm, please email forcecontrolroom@lancashire.police.uk or call 101 – log 0809 of December 5, 2023.

"Any sightings of Brian, please call 999 immediately.

"When he was last seen, he was believed to be wearing a blue fleece with an Everton FC badge on - the one he's wearing in the photograph - blue jeans and trainers.

"We would like to thank you for your continued help and support in the search for Brian.

"Again, we ask you to check your gardens and any sheds and outbuildings, and to look out for Brian when going about your daily business."
