A COUPLE who run a gift shop have created a Christmas card using a picture of Newton-le-Willows with the profits going back into the community.

Jasmine’s Gifts on the High Street in Newton-le-Willows is owned by Carla Agger and after she and husband Brian saw a photograph taken last year of St Peters Church in the snow, they decided it would make a lovely Christmas card this year.

Brain said: “Carla contacted the person who took the picture and they said we could use it, we then asked an artist who now works at the shop called Rachel Sutherland, who works under the name Eliza Moon Designs and asked her if she could do an impression of the image and she did.

“One has the three wise men on it and the other has a moon and then we have the photograph version, all saying Merry Christmas from Newton-le-Willows.

“The profits from the sale of the cards will go back into the community and the response from the public has been great.

“We’ve been told they’ve been sent to Australia, Belgium, Spain and the USA, giving people a chance to send a bit of home to those who have moved away.”

The card, which are £3.50 each, can be purchased in the shop and also via jasminesgifts.co.uk
