THE mum of two girls aged nine and 11 who have started their own jewellery business says she is ‘beyond proud’ as they prepare to set up a pop-up shop.

Over the summer, sisters Amelia and Olivia Rudin got a jewellery-making kit to keep them amused, little did they know that the interest peaked from that would lead to them becoming young entrepreneurs.

Their mum Steph, 35, said: “It started out of nowhere really, Olivia has started high school and Amelia is still at Rainford CE Primary, and they weren’t as close as they had been just due to age really but when someone got them a jewellery making kit they were doing it together.

“I was happy enough with that, to be honest, but when people bought them and wanted more they then got the money they made and reinvested it to get more supplies, getting stuff to make clay beads and charms and slowly it just grew really.

“I’m really proud of them, they are only young but instead of thinking about the little they made, off their own backs they reinvested the profits and set up Sister Jewellery.

The girls were then invited to take part in a fair and while there people were so impressed with their business that one well-established business in Rainford Village invited them and another business to have a pop-up event at the shop.

Steph added: “Pick ‘n’ Mixers, a local business in the village has invited them to do a pop-up shop in their store on December 9 and they are honestly so excited.

“It’s important I think to encourage children to use their creativity. If nothing else I’m so proud they have worked together and learned the value of reinvesting in their work and realising the value of hard work.

“Rainford parish councillor Chris Lamb will attend and we are trying to attract as much attention to this event as possible in the hope of inspiring other youngsters to get up and do something for themselves so I hope others will come and support them because they are good girls and love doing this.”
