POLICE have charged an 18-year-old man with assault and intentional strangulation after being called to a "domestic incident".

Officers attended a property yesterday, Tuesday, November 28 and a suspect was arrested by police.

A force spokesman confirmed they have since charged a man in connection with the alleged incident.

Michael Quinn, 18, has been charged with intentional strangulation and assault.

Quinn, from Prescot, appeared at Merseyside Youth Court today, Wednesday.

He was bailed and is next due to appear before Liverpool Crown Court in the new year.

A Merseyside Police spokesman said: "We can confirm that a man has been charged following a domestic incident yesterday, Tuesday, November 28.

"We received a report of the incident at around 9.40am and officers attended a property and a male was arrested.

"Michael Quinn, 18, of Coronation Drive, in Prescot, has been charged with intentional strangulation and assault.

"He appeared at Liverpool Youth Court today (Wednesday, November 29) and was conditionally bailed to next appear at Liverpool Crown Court on Tuesday, January 2, 2024."
