A WOMAN has been charged with knife possession after police attended a report of a suspect having a blade in the street.
Officers attended Grafton Street, West Park, on Sunday evening, November 26.
It had been reported that a woman was in possession of a knife in the street.
A police dog also attended the scene to assist officers as the weapon was surrendered and a suspect arrested.
Police have confirmed they have since charged a 45-year-old woman with possession of a knife in a public place and possession of controlled Class B drugs, namely cannabis and amphetamine.
The woman is due to appear in court on the charges in January and has been granted bail until then.

A Merseyside Police spokesman said: "We can confirm a woman has been charged following an incident in St Helens on Sunday, November 26.
"At around 8.30pm, it was reported that a woman was in possession of a knife on Grafton Street and officers attended where she was arrested.
"The woman has been charged with possession of a knife, blade/sharp pointed article in a public place and possession of controlled Class B drugs (cannabis and amphetamine).
"She has been bailed to next appear at Liverpool, Knowsley and St Helens Magistrates' Court on Monday, January 8."
