A TAKEAWAY in St Helens town centre has been given a one-star food hygiene rating by the Foods Standards Agency.

Dashilicious, based on Duke Street, St Helens, was given the score after an inspection on October 5.

From a score of zero to five, food hygiene ratings are given to food handling businesses after an inspection has assessed how well they comply with food safety laws.

The rating reflects the standards of food hygiene found on the date of the inspection.

If businesses are awarded a score lower than five, the local authority officer will explain what action they can take to improve.

Improvements were also found to be needed in relation to its cleanliness and condition of facilities and building.

Meanwhile, major improvements were found to be necessary for the takeaway's management of food safety.
