TWO teenage pedestrians were taken to hospital after a collision with a taxi this morning.

Emergency services descended on to Parr Street, Fingerpost earlier today following the collision, which involved two teenagers and a taxi.

A 13-year-old boy suffered a serious head injury which police said is "not life-threatening".

Meanwhile, a 14-year-old girl suffered a serious leg injury and cut to her head, police added. They were both taken to hospital.

Police were at the scene earlier today and a partial closure was in place, which has since been lifted.

A Merseyside Police spokeswoman said: "We are appealing for information following a road traffic collision this morning, Friday, November 10, on Parr Street in St Helens.

"Just before 8.15am emergency services were called to a report of a collision involving two pedestrians and a taxi.

"Two teenage children have been taken to hospital. The 13-year-old boy has sustained a serious head injury which is not life threatening. The 14-year-old girl sustained a serious leg injury and cut to her head.

"The driver has stopped at the scene and is assisting officers with their inquiries."

She added: "Parr Street Road was closed while emergency services dealt with the incident and has now reopened. 

"We are appealing for any witnesses, CCTV and dash camera footage which may assist the investigation.
