A ROAD has been closed due to a "medical emergency" after a man was found unconscious at a bus stop this morning.
Bradlegh Road, in Newton-le-Willows, has been closed in both directions due to the incident, between Caunce Avenue and Kingsway, with emergency services in attendance.
A man has been taken to hospital, a spokesperson for North West Ambulance said.

The North West Ambulance spokesperson said: "We got a call at 7.01am to a male unconscious, sent an ambulance and RV and one patient was taken to Warrington General."
A Merseyside Police spokeswoman added: "We can confirm that emergency services are on Bradlegh Road in Newton le Willows following a concern for safety of a man at a bus stop.
"The man has been taken to hospital and emergency services remain in the area to conduct further enquiries."
As of shortly before 10.30am, live traffic tracker INRIX stated: "Bradlegh Road both ways closed, heavy traffic due to medical emergency from Caunce Avenue to Kingsway."
