A MAN has been charged with drugs and weapon offences following an incident in St Helens this week.
On Monday, October 9, police officers witnessed a suspected drugs deal in Victoria Park and later arrested a man after following him to nearby Birch Avenue.
A subsequent search of a property discovered suspected cocaine, cash and weapons including a sword, machete and knuckle duster.

Merseyside Police have now confirmed that Gary Rigby, 57, of Princess Avenue, Windlehurst, St Helens, has been charged with possession of an offensive weapon in a private place and possession with intent to supply a controlled Class A drug (crack cocaine).
He appeared at Wirral Adult Remand Court on Tuesday, October 10, and was remanded in custody to appear at Liverpool Crown Court on Tuesday, November 7.
