NEW images have been released from the second series of the multi-award-winning hit drama Time which is being partly filmed in St Helens.
Co-written by Jimmy McGovern and Helen Black (Life and Death in the Warehouse), the second series is produced and distributed internationally by BBC Studios for BBC One and iPlayer (as well as Britbox North America) and is directed by Andrea Harkin (The Confessions of Frannie Langton, The Trial Of Christine Keeler).
Time is currently being filmed in locations across Wirral, Liverpool, Halton, St Helens and Knowsley.
The Star reported how filming for the series took place at the College Street station, St Helens.
The new three-part series is a portrayal of life inside a women’s prison, told through the lens of three very different inmates who are thrown together to face an unfamiliar world.
The brand-new pictures released by the BBC show Jodie Whittaker (Doctor Who, Broadchurch) as Orla, Tamara Lawrance (The Silent Twins, The Long Song) as Abi and Bella Ramsey (The Last of Us, His Dark Materials) as Kelsey.
Siobhan Finneran will also play the part of prison chaplain Marie-Louise and Sophie Willan stars as inmate Maeve Riley.
Series one is available to watch on BBC iPlayer now. Series two is coming to BBC One and BBC iPlayer this Autumn.
