A suspect was reported to have fled the scene.

However, a man has since been arrested on suspicion of Section 18 wounding.

He is still in police custody to be questioned.

A cordon was in place on Cooper Street yesterday afternoon while police and forensics teams dealt with the incident.

It is understood that the incident took place on the street and the Turks Head and Cowley Vaults pubs were not involved in the situation.

However, it is the third serious incident that has happened around the area since July, and residents have expressed their concerns for safety.

Police have confirmed that an investigation is currently underway, with CCTV and witness enquiries being carried out in the local area.
