A POLICE cordon is currently in place on a residential street after reports a man was stabbed outside a pub.
The incident appears to have taken place near Cooper Street at around 4pm on Tuesday, September 12, near the Turks Head and Cowley Vaults pubs.
Police said it was reported that a man aged in his 20s had been stabbed.
The incident happened on the street and did not involve the pubs.
The suspect fled the scene and emergency services attended to take the victim to hospital.
The Turks Head was inside the police cordon, although it is believed to have stayed open with side access through Russet Close.
In a statement, Chief Inspector Phil Cowin said: “We are in the very early stages of investigating this incident and would appeal for anyone with information to come forward.
“If you were in the area and witnessed the incident, please let us know. If you live or were driving past the area and have CCTV or dashcam footage, it could vital to our enquiries.”
Forensic teams and police remained at the scene this evening.
