MERSEYSIDE Police thanked the vast majority of festival-goers for their behaviour at Reminisce this weekend, although six arrests were made.

Reminisce Festival returned to Sherdley Park for the 9th year on Saturday, September 9, with 20,000 people descending on the town for seven stages of old-school pop and dance tunes.

The festival has had its controversies over the years, but this year's event seemed to have passed off without any major issues.

Nevertheless, police have confirmed that six arrests were made at the festival.

Five were arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply drugs, while a community resolution was handed out for possession of a controlled drug.

Police have also reported that a person was arrested for allegedly "assaulting a police constable".

Chief Inspector Chris Barnes said: “Around 19,000 people attended the Reminisce Festival on Saturday and I am pleased to say that there were only a very small number of arrests, mainly for drugs offences.

“I would like to thank the vast majority of people who attended for acting in a responsible manner allowing everyone to enjoy the event.”
