POLICE were called to grounds nearby a church’s cemetery last night amid concerns for a woman’s safety.
The incident happened at about 10.30pm off Church Lane, Eccleston, near to Christ Church.
Concerned residents reported seeing a number of police cars, vans and an ambulance at the scene.
Officers could be seen on grounds near to the church.
A Merseyside Police spokesperson said the emergency service presence related “to concern for the safety of a woman”.
The spokesperson added: “Patrols attended and she was taken to hospital to be checked over.”
