TRAFFIC was delayed near Rainhill Stoops on the M62 after a crash involving two vans and a car.
There was queueing traffic from junction seven (Rainhill Stoops) to junction six (Tarbock Island) following the collision.
The crash involved one car and two vans and there was a large fuel spillage in the area.
North West Motorway Police said: "We have a block on at J7 M62 eastbound due to an RTC, if you can find an alternative route do so, if you are in the tail backs please be patient and do not get out of your vehicles.

Live traffic tracker INRIX stated: "M62 Westbound closed, queueing traffic due to accident, one car and two vans involved and fuel spillage from J7 A57 Warrington Road (Rainhill Stoops) to J6 M57 J1 (Tarbock Island).
"The accident occurred around 11:40."
The scene has since been cleared and the road reopened.
All lanes have now reopened on the #M62 westbound between J7 (#Rainhill) and J6 (#Tarbock) following the earlier collision.
