A MAN has been charged with causing the death of mum-of-four Michelle Atherton by dangerous driving.
Police have today, Saturday, confirmed a suspect has been charged following a fatal road collision in Parr which happened on Wednesday, July 5.
Kevin Marsh, of Redgate Drive, Parr, has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving and causing death while uninsured.
Marsh, 43, has been remanded in custody and due to appear at Liverpool, Knowsley and St Helens Magistrates' Court today, Saturday, July 15.
The fatal collision occurred at the junction of Broad Oak Road and Delta Road at 7am on July 5, and involved a white Ford Fiesta and a refuse wagon.
Michelle Atherton, 47, was treated at the scene for a serious head injury and was taken to hospital where she sadly died a short time later.

Detective Sergeant Kurt Timpson from the MATRIX Serious Collision Investigation Unit said: “Our thoughts remain with Michelle’s family and they are still being supported by specially trained officers. I would also like to thank the local community for their help to date with this investigation.
“Although a man has been charged in connection with this incident, we are still appealing for anyone with information to come forward.”
