PLANS have been sent in seeking to convert a property into a house of multiple occupation (HMO).

Applicant Raj Seegum sent in the plans for the change of use of a house on Prescot Road, St Helens into an eight-bedroom HMO.

A HMO is a property rented out by at least three people who are not from one 'household' but share facilities like a bathroom and kitchen.

A design and access statement by planning agents Mason and Marlowe Ltd in the proposals says: "This terraced property currently has six habitable rooms.

"The applicant is proposing to convert the property into eight bedrooms and change the use from a dwelling house to a HMO property.

"Properties adjoining the site are also two-storey terrace dwelling with uniform development pattern with pitched gable end roofs".

It was added all changes to the property layout "are internal".

The plans are on consultation to the public until Wednesday, July 19.
