A GROUP of friends have created a fitness app 'with a difference'.
Joe Webster and his friends Alex Provan and James Ball, from St Helens, worked together to create a fitness app with a vision to help improve the physical health of locals.
The app, called REP - The Sports App, uses AI to give users personal fitness plans, meal plans, and advice based on their fitness requirements.
Discussing the formation of the app, Joe, 19, said: "Me and Alex have been mates for ages and we’ve always wanted to set up a business, and we started talking about our strong points, with Alex telling me about James from his uni, and we got him on board.
"We thought there are so many fitness apps out there, so the one that we make has got to be different.
"We’ve been working on it for months and are thinking of new ideas as we go along.
"We’re still developing it and hoping to get it tested soon, but we’re making sure that it’s perfect before it goes out.
"We’re all excited and a bit nervous; we really want it to work and understand that it’s a huge market to go to, but we’re all confident about it and have seen what the app can do.
"The main aim was to help improve the physical health of people in the community and have a positive impact."
REP - The Sports App is not yet available to download.
