WHETHER it’s cats or dogs, fish or birds, or even snakes and bearded dragons, we love our pets.
Four-legged friends are like members of the family.
But who do you call when your dog needs walking while you’re at work?
Which cat-sitters come to the rescue when you go on your summer holiday?
Is there a veterinary surgery that goes above and beyond to care for your pets?
We have started our next Best of search to find St Helens’ Best for Pets – whether it’s dog groomers, cat carers or medical professionals.
This is a new category this year and we wanted to give thanks to those people who look after our pets.
In our Best of 2023 campaign, we’ve given out nine awards in St Helens for hair and nails, pies and roast dinner, cocktails and breakfast as well as fitness, fish and chips and tattoos.
The shortlist for the town’s Best for Pizza was revealed yesterday, Thursday.
This week, it’s pets and as a nation of animal lovers we know it will be no easy feat to choose a winner, which is why we’ll be handing over the final decision to those who know best – our readers.
HOW IT WORKS:
Each Friday morning we will reveal new categories via our social media pages and ask you who is the best. Nominations will then close each Monday morning at 12pm.
Every Thursday we will publish a shortlist of finalists with voting officially opening.
You will be able to vote in one of three ways:
- By commenting under the relevant post on our St Helens Star Facebook or Twitter pages = 1 vote
- By entering via the online article on our St Helens Star website = 2 votes
- By entering via our St Helens Star newspaper = 5 votes
The following Wednesday evening we will announce the winner of that category on social media.
Usual Newsquest competition rules apply.
