FIREFIGHTERS rushed to Whiston Hospital yesterday following reports of a blaze in the building.
Concerned residents reported seeing the emergency services at Whiston Hospital yesterday afternoon, as three fire engines were seen in attendance.
Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service confirmed that firefighters were called to the Warrington Road hospital at around 5.22pm on Sunday, June 11.

On attendance, firefighters found a blaze in a ground floor room of the hospital, which they were able to quickly and safely extinguish.
Hospital staff had already evacuated that area of the hospital and no injuries have been reported.
Fire service statement
A Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "Crews were called to a fire at Whiston Hospital on Warrington Road, on Sunday, June 11.
"Crews were alerted at 5.22pm and on scene at 5.30pm, with three fire engines at the scene.
"Crews arrived to find a fire in a ground floor room. Hospital staff had already evacuated the area and firefighters had extinguished the fire with a high pressure hose by 5.38pm.
"Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus then used a fan to ventilate the area.
"There are no reports of any injuries. Firefighters left the scene at 7.12pm."
