THE OWNERS of a Chinese restaurant that has stood for three decades say they have been overwhelmed with the reaction to its closure as countless customers thanked them for their service.
As previously reported, brothers Dave and George Lee decided that it was time to close the Beijing Restaurant, on Eccleston Street in Prescot, after serving customers from across Merseyside for thirty years.
After the announcement that the Lee family was calling it time in Prescot, the business was quickly inundated with messages from customers who loved visiting the restaurant and its tasty Chinese and Cantonese menu.

Social media was flooded with tributes from those gutted to see their favourite Chinese restaurant go, while countless messages were sent to the brothers directly to thank them for their service.
To further show their appreciation, many customers also came to the Eccleston Street restaurant to hand-deliver cards and gifts, and the business had one of its busiest-ever weeks as people came to enjoy one last meal at the Beijing.
After serving generations of customers from Prescot, St Helens, and across Merseyside, the Beijing restaurant finally closed its doors on Sunday, June 4.
An extra opening for family and close friends was held the following day to celebrate the brother's achievements and retirement.
Dave, who described some customers as being like friends, said: "Following the announcement that we would be closing on June 5th, we have been overwhelmed with the messages of support and kindness displayed by our loyal customers.
"The number of cards and gifts we have received has left us truly speechless.
"On behalf of everyone at the Beijing restaurant we would simply like to say a huge thank you for your custom over the past 30 years and wish each and every one of you good luck and good health in the future."
