A FAMILY cafe cherished for its traditional food menu, decorative cakes, and music-themed premises will soon leave the town centre.
Opening up in late 2020, Georgie Porgies was launched out of a unit on Water Street, just off Westfield Street, by Michelle and Richard Greensmith.
With music posters and a jukebox decorating the Water Street walls, the cafe became well-known for its welcoming atmosphere, jam-packed breakfasts and platters, and decorative cakes and cupcakes.

However, after launching Georgie Porgies during the pandemic, Michelle previously explained how business has been a struggle for the family, with difficulties attracting customers on the edge of the town centre.
The Greensmiths tried to adjust to this by shifting from a sit-in to a takeaway-only cafe and admitted they were thinking about the business' long-term future earlier this year.
However, although things have improved as the year has gone on, the couple has decided to sell the business as Michelle's health condition has deteriorated following a diagnosis of vascular dementia.
The couple announced that any pre-booked orders will be fulfilled, but will leave the premises at the end of July.
In a statement online, Michelle said: "Thank you to all our customers but as you've probably seen the cafe is for sale. I can't continue to run it and give it my all my health is deteriorating.
"All orders booked in with us are safe, we will not be leaving until the end of July so don't worry.
"Once again thank you for all your custom over the years but it's time for us to say goodbye."
Following the announcement, dozens of residents paid tribute to the Greensmiths and thanked them for their service in St Helens.
One comment that is indicative of the feeling shared by many said: "You are the best cafe and caterers around and you will be missed.
"You have been my favs since day one, from lockdown breakfast and afternoon tea deliveries, to my Dad's funeral buffet, big boots to fill anyone else coming in, you have been amazing.
"Thank you both for all you have provided to my family and the community of St Helens, you have certainly done more than most."
