A DOG attacked a Springer Spaniel and its owner while they were out for a walk.

A Staffordshire Bull Terrier-type dog launched the attack on Ridgewood Drive in Sutton last night, Monday, police say.
The owner of the Bull Terrier-type dog reportedly dragged the animal off the Spaniel.
The Spaniel was taken to the vets following the incident and the owner suffered a hand injury.
Police have issued an appeal for witnesses following the attack.

A Merseyside Police spokeswoman said: "We can confirm we received a report that a Staffordshire Bull Terrier type dog attacked a Springer Spaniel in St Helens yesterday, Monday, May 22.
"We received a report that at around 10pm a woman was walking her Springer Spaniel along Ridgewood Drive, Sutton when the Staffordshire Bull Terrier attacked the Spaniel.
"It was reported that the woman tried to get the Bull Terrier off the Spaniel and a neighbour and the owner of the Bull Terrier dragged the dog off the Spaniel.
"The owner of the Staffordshire Bull Terrier received a minor injury to her hand. No one else was injured.
"Officers attended and the Staffordshire Bull Terrier was safely in the owner’s possession.
"The owner of the Springer Spaniel took it the vets."
