A MAN has been charged with causing criminal damage after police were called to a pub.

Officers attended the Owls Nest on West End Road, Haydock , on Monday night, May 15.

Police said they received reports that damage had been caused to a window and a 48-year-old suspect has since been charged in connection with the incident.

Lee Mansfield, of Church Road, Haydock, was charged with criminal damage and made a first court appearance over the matter on Tuesday.

A Merseyside Police spokeswoman said: "We were called to the Owls Nest Hotel at 10.30pm on Monday following reports damage had been caused to a window.

"Lee Mansfield, 48, of Church Road, Haydock, was charged with criminal damage.

"He appeared at the Complex Case adult remand court yesterday (Tuesday, May 16)."

Mansfield is due to appear at Liverpool, Knowsley and St Helens Magistrates' Court today, Wednesday.
