A PLANNING application has been submitted seeking formal permission for a social club to renovate its premises.

Proposals to make amendments at Garswood And Simms Road Labour Club, on Garswood Road, have been sent in to St Helens Council planners.

The application includes for the construction of a single-storey side extension to create a main entrance.

Meanwhile, plans also include for a retractable canopy with new external seating area to bthe front of the building.

There would also be a new 1.45m boundary wall to enclose an external seating area. 

The application is open to public consultation.

An application form in the plans states the proposals include for the "erection of new porch entrance to gable of property along with new external seating area to front of property.

"Existing dilapidated dwarf wall to front of development to be re-built".

The standard consultation lasts until Tuesday, May 30, with a decision expected by council planners by June 29.
