A VIDEO clip has shown a deer roaming a residential street in St Helens.
The footage, shared by a St Helens Star camera club member, captured the animal in Eccleston last week.
It shows the deer mooching around the area early in the morning while the roads and streets are quiet.
The user who posted the clip on social media, said there was a second deer, although this was not shown in the clip.
Sightings of wildlife in unusual places became more common when lockdowns started during the coronavirus pandemic in 2020, when the streets became eerily quiet.
A video back then showed a deer roaming Church Street in St Helens town centre.
There have also been sightings of deer in Blackbrook, Rainhill and Sutton over recent years.
Previously, the RSPCA has issued advice to residents who spot deer in urban areas.
An RSPCA spokesperson said: “Although deer traditionally live in forests, moors and parkland, they are becoming more common in urban environments across the UK, for example they have been seen in gardens, golf courses, roads and railway lines."
