A FORMER business travel agent is celebrating after taking home top honours in the recent UK Hair and Beauty Awards 2023.
Carla Knight, from Windle, was shortlisted for two awards – North West Best Bridal Individual for Makeup and the North West Makeup Artist of the Year.
She claimed the bridal title and placed in the top five makeup artists in the region.

The 35-year-old, who was born in Arrowe Park, started working as a makeup artist after her maternity leave in 2014, with friends and family as her first clients.
Carla said: “After building a business and having my daughter in 2019 and then being hit by the Covid-19 pandemic, I decided to do a course in semi-permanent makeup in 2021 and wanted to work in the wedding industry.
“I always wanted to be a bridal makeup artist after training in bridal in 2014 and I’ve worked hard to get where I am today.”
Last year, Carla placed 35th for Makeup Artist of the Year in the whole of the UK.
