POLICE arrested two Whiston men suspected of supplying cocaine during a day of action.
During a day of action as part of Operation Athena in Knowsley on Wednesday, May 3, Merseyside Police made seven arrests, seized drugs, cash and recovered a viable firearm at various locations in the borough.
Operation Athena is a proactive policing operation that aims to disrupt organised crime across Knowsley and reassure communities following an injury shooting on Brookwood Road, Huyton, on Tuesday, May 2.

Among the arrests were four made after officers suspected that the occupants of a vehicle being driven on Knowsley Lane were involved in drugs supply, at around 8.30pm on Wednesday.
After stopping the car on Liverpool Road, officers arrested four men - two 34-year-old men from Whiston and Kirkby; a 42-year-old man from Tuebrook; and a 39-year-old from Halewood.
They were all arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of cocaine and acquiring/using/possessing criminal property.
Cash and mobile phones were also seized from the vehicle.
All four suspects remain in police custody.
