POLICE were called to St Helens town centre yesterday afternoon after reports of a suspect being drunk and disorderly.
Officers attended the Church Square area after they were alerted to an "incident" at the nearby shopping centre.
Police cars were seen parking up on Church Square and arresting a suspect.

When asked about the arrest, a Merseyside Police spokesman said: "We arrested a 45-year-old man on suspicion of being drunk and disorderly in a public place following an incident at Church Square Shopping Centre at around 1.45pm yesterday (Wednesday, May 3).
"He remains in police custody."
