THE headteacher at a special needs school which had two minibuses stolen, has praised the community and pupils' families for their kind messages and support.
At around 9.20am on Tuesday, April 18 officers received a report that two Ford Transit minibuses had been stolen from Lansbury Bridge School and Sports College in Parr St Helens.
Further enquiries and CCTV footage established that the vehicles were taken on Tuesday, April 11 between 7.10pm and 7.20pm from the school carpark.
An investigation is underway in the area.
Carole Austin, headteacher at Lansbury Bridge School, said: “It’s really disappointing to know someone came onto school property and took our minibuses, as the children rely on these to take them on trips.
“However rather than focus on that I’d really like to praise our Lansbury Bridge community and the parents of our children who have been amazing with their kind messages and support.
“I’d like to focus on that really as our fantastic community have made sure we’ve been able to continue with these trips and we leave the investigation in the capable hands of police.”
