TWO suspects were found hiding in back gardens following a police foot chase after officers received reports of e-bikes being ridden anti-socially.

Police say that at approximately 3.30pm on Sunday, April 16, they received information reporting a group of five Electric Sur-Ron bikes being ridden anti-socially through St Helens town centre towards Parr.

Police say they spotted three suspects with two bikes on Boardmans Lane and a short foot chase ensued.

Police dogs were used to assist and two suspects were found hiding in gardens.

In a statement, police said: “A containment has been put in place and with assistance from our dog patrols two males were found hiding in back gardens of O'Sullivan Crescent and arrested (on suspicion of) various driving offences, drug driving and on suspicion of theft of motor vehicle.”

Meanwhile, at the same time, another electric Sur-Ron bike passed officers on Blackbrook Road.

Police added: "A suspect was chased into nearby woodland and, with assistance from dog patrols and air support, a third male was detained and arrested on suspicion of various driving offences, drug driving, possession of a Class B drug and suspicion of theft of motor vehicle."

Three bikes have been seized by police.
