A TATTOO studio is moving into the basement of the former Two Brothers coffee shop on the corner of Ormskirk Street.
Old Times Collective is adding a new studio in the basement of the ‘Globe’ building, the upstairs of which is set to be a sweet shop.
Owner of Old Times Collective Sean Duffy, 34, said: “I was just walking past one day and the landlord asked me if I was interested and I thought I’d look into it.
“It’s a great space, it reaches half way across the road as well. We plan to have seven artists in there and it’s all been modernised.
“It’s going to be an extension of my business called Number Six and we aim to open this Friday. It’s really exciting.”
The store had been the St Helens branch of Two Brothers from August 2021, following the success of stores in Altrincham and Warrington.
With a focus on speciality coffee, their launch was a hit with coffee lovers although some residents questioned the opening of another coffee shop in the town centre.
Despite these concerns, Two Brothers invested further in the town and opened a small cafe inside St Helens Book Stop on Bridge Street.
However, after just more than 12 months in the town centre, the Two Brothers team announced they were leaving the Ormskirk Street premises in October 2022.
Branding on the front of the store front currently shows the upstairs of the site as Greavesy's Tuck Shop.
