FOLLOWING our report into one of the oldest serving sandwich shops in the town centre, the comments section shows that Pickles Farms' popularity is undeniable.
Commonly known as one of the best places to grab a bite to eat in St Helens, Pickles Farms Deli and Sandwich Bar, on Barrow Street, has been an ever-present figure of the town centre for the past 40 years.

On my visit to the Barrow Street sandwich shop last week, its ongoing relevance was obvious as the shop was bustling at lunchtime, with many picking out Pickles' famous doorstop sandwiches.
Despite the difficulties of the cost of living crisis, pandemic, and declining high street trends, owner Jane Taylor Lawrenson said that the business is still going strong.
Jane, who also owns two sandwich shops in Leigh, said that the business is looking to further sustain itself by decking out outdoor tables and chairs, and moving onto Just Eat for a delivery service.

Proving that Pickles is still one of the most popular places to grab some dinner in the town centre, our weekend report received hundreds of responses on social media, with many commending the decades-old business and its mouth-watering menu.
Renowned for their tasty sandwiches on doorstop bread, as well as wraps, pies, pastries, and pasta pots, here are some of the top compliments issued to Pickles Farms.
