A WOMAN has been charged with shop thefts in Prescot.

Lesley Crockett, 58, of Salerno Drive in Huyton, was arrested and charged yesterday, Tuesday, March 21 with five offences at shops in the Prescot and Huyton areas in February and March.

Crockett will appear at South Sefton Magistrates today, Wednesday, March 22.

A police statement read: "If you have any information on suspected theft, contact police @MerPolCC or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.

"Always call 999 if a crime is in progress."
