A YOUNG businesswoman in Newton-le-Willows is opening her first store alongside her mum.
Lucy Reid set up her loungewear clothing line during lockdown in 2020 and was running the business from her spare bedroom.
The business soon branched out by becoming a fashion boutique, offering children’s clothing, footwear, and accessories, with Lucy now moving into her own shop.
As the business grew, Lucy's mum Andrea Reid offered to help out with the boutique.
Lucy said: "I started during lockdown literally in my spare bedroom as I had loads of time on my hands, then it really took off.
"I then brought my mum on board because it was getting too busy.
"The business was spread across three bedrooms, and it was getting too much, so when the shop came up on the high street, we thought 'let’s go for it'".
The 26-year-old will be bringing her business onto Heath Street in Golborne, with locals believing it to be "What Golborne needs".
Following nearly three years of business, Lucy’s dream finally becomes a reality.
Discussing having her own premises, Lucy added: "It’s really surreal as I’ve always dreamt of having my own business one day, but never in a million years did I think that I’d actually do it.
"I pinch myself when I walk in there and sit back and think 'I’ve done it'".
The business, called Reid’s Rails Fashion Boutique, will open its new store this Saturday, March 18.
During the store’s opening, a charity fundraiser will take place to honour customers who are battling cancer.
