A CHINESE takeaway has been given a one-star food hygiene rating in the latest round of inspections across St Helens.
From a score of zero to five, food hygiene ratings are given to food handling businesses after an inspection has assessed how well they comply with food safety laws.
The rating reflects the standards of food hygiene found on the date of the inspection by the local authority.

Mei's Garden
Mei's Garden, on Warrington Road in Rainhill, was given a one-out-of-five food hygiene rating from its inspection on January 30.
The food hygiene assessment found that the business' hygienic food handling and the cleanliness and condition of the building need improvements.
The takeaway's management of food safety was rated as needing major improvements.
Balti Spice
Balti Spice, on Duke Street close to St Helens town centre, was given a two-out-of-five food hygiene rating from its inspection on January 30.
The Indian restaurant and takeaway's hygienic food handling and management of food safety was rated as "Generally Satisfactory" in the inspection.
However, inspectors found that the cleanliness and condition of the building needed improvements.
Rainhill Hall
Rainhill Hall, on Warrington Road in Rainhill, was given a three-out-of-five food hygiene rating from its inspection on January 30.
The cleanliness and condition of the large building was rated as "Good" in the food standards inspection.
The restaurant's management of food safety and hygienic food handling were rated as "Generally Satisfactory".
Toby Carvery
The Lakeside Toby Carvery, on Garswood Old Road in Carr Mill, was given a four-out-of-five food hygiene rating from its inspection on January 30.
The restaurant's management of food safety and hygienic food handling was rated as "Good".
The cleanliness and condition of the building was rated as being "Generally Satisfactory".
