When and why did you take up photography?
I have always enjoyed taking photos but started to take more of an interest about four years ago to help me with my depression.
What do you love about taking pictures?
I enjoy capturing the moment and I also enjoy being outside - it makes me feel better. It’s nice to have some ‘me’ time.

Where is your favourite place to take pictures and why?
I love Carr Mill Dam and Sankey Valley. I’ve lived over the road for 22 years but first went there as a child aged eight, which was 39 years ago. I love the wildlife especially trying to spot the kingfishers.
What is your favourite subject matter and why?
I enjoy taking photos of the sunrise as each one is different. The colours are amazing often going from dark blue to pink to gold. I think capturing birds in flight can make a great photo. I usually take photos with my phone.

What do you enjoy about being part of our Camera Club on Facebook?
I enjoy sharing my photos with other like-minded people and also seeing other people’s photos. It’s always nice to think that your photos can help people who might not be able to get outside themselves or who might be struggling with their mental health.
If you could photograph anyone/any place/anything, who/what would it be?
I would love to take pictures of the Northern Lights - that would be special.
