HERE is a first look inside the newest store to launch in St Helens – the Select store in the former Burtons building.
There was sadness when the store closed in the shopping centre but after signage was put up in the windows last month with the brand’s logo in it, excitement started brewing that the large retail space left empty for years would again house a fashion brand.
After weeks of speculation, the store opened its doors yesterday, Wednesday, February 22 and is fully stocked with the label’s latest line.
Manager Ellen Pennington says the response has been "incredible".
Speaking to the Star, she said: “People have been really great and curious about us coming in and saying they are happy the space is full again.
“We had lots of unhappy customers when we closed the other store so they are so happy to see us open again and in such a great and prominent position too.
“We’ve only been open a day but the response has been incredible, despite technical difficulties the public have been coming in.
“We urge everyone to pop in, see that there is something for everyone and not to forget that we have a 20 per cent student discount – so students can get the latest stuff for less.”
