SCOUTING for Girls will headline Rainford’s Picnic in the Park this summer.

The ‘She’s So Lovely’ band are set to headline the sixth annual event which has gradually got bigger and raises funds for community and sports groups in Rainford.

The pop rock band will be playing at the event on June 3.

Co-licensee Phil Thomas, said: “We are really happy that Scouting for Girls are coming to Rainford and we’ve got bigger and better now we are in our sixth year.

“The reaction from the community has been amazing. The tickets have been so popular and everyone has been so excited, we just can’t wait to put on another good show.

“It just goes to show how popular the event is getting because we keep getting bigger acts and it’s great to see.

St Helens Star:

“We have a policy where people can bring their own food and drink as well so for £28 they get a full evening of music, potentially no extra costs, but of course we have food vendors if needed which will serve up lovely food.”

Rainford’s Picnic in the Park has so far raised £48,000 for various clubs in the area, including the cricket and tennis club.

The event will also star Parka Monkeys, Ultra 90s, Paul Draper, Marble Eyes and Electronics.

There will also be fair rides from Silcocks Fayre and food vendors.

Tickets for the event on Saturday, June 3 cost £28 for adults and £15 for primary school aged children.
