THE owner of an independent fashion store says she has enjoyed "a glorious time in the village" after bringing a curtain down on the business.
Ellamora, based in Rainford, which sold clothing and gifts, announced earlier this month it would stop trading in February.
The store on Church Road in Rainford village had opened in 2016 but owner Ali Tyrer said trading had become really challenging.
In a further message, posted on Instagram, as the business closed this weekend, Ali, who was part of the family who ran the department store Tyrers, wrote: "Thank you Rainford Village, I’ve had such a glorious time here in my little ‘corner shop’ quite honestly living the dream!
"I have so many happy memories and I’ve loved maintaining the traditional retailing values and service that were so important to my great grandfather back in 1888 - I am leaving feeling like I really did achieve something precious and unique and knowing that I made a lot of people happy even if it has only been for a short time - that is truly the magic of this type of business and I’ll miss it greatly.
"I’ve enjoyed every minute.
"With love, thanks and very best wishes, Ali xxx."
Earlier in the month, announcing her decision, Ali said it was the right time to start a new chapter and enjoy some precious family time."
